Bride and Groom: Olivia + Adam
I first met Olivia + Adam in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest just outside of Seattle. They had flown out West to road trip and explore the PNW, and I was there to capture part of their adventure in the North Cascades that summer. Inspired by travel and adventure, these two decided to elope in the mountains of northern Italy, the Italian Alps, also known as the Dolomites.
My partner, Nick, and I had the opportunity to visit the Dolomites in 2021 and absolutely fell in love with the landscape. Located in Northern Italy near the border of Austria, the Dolomites are an oasis of sharp mountain peaks, rolling green fields filled with wildflowers, and charming Italian towns. When Olivia + Adam asked me to be their photographer, I was so thrilled to be able to show them my favorite locations, and capture their most important memories.
The morning of their wedding, we drove up to Lago Di Braies, a stunning lake in the wilderness to catch the sun rise over the breathtaking mountain peaks. The turquoise water was so crisp and bright, shimmering in the shadow of the Eastern Sun. They took the boat to the middle of the lake and soaked in the majestic views, the perfect way to start their wedding day.
Later that afternoon I met them at Hotel Alpen Tesitin, a picturesque and beautiful hotel nestled in the mountains above near Toblach. They shared their first look in the meadow behind the hotel, Olivia wearing pieces representing her Philippino culture. We then headed to Tre Cime National Park where we hiked to the most stunning viewpoint any of us had ever witnessed. After exploring the area, Adam and Olivia shared their vows on the peak of the mountain as the sun set in the distance.
The next day they explored the mountains via car, and we met on one of the mountain passes – with a 360 degree view of the breathtaking nature surrounding. I captured them taking in the sights + enjoying each other’s company- soaking in the adventure they were on + reminiscing on the day before.
This was a truly meaningful experience I will never forget, it was an honor to capture their love story in the Dolomites.
